The Teeth of Liars (sw)

Here is an extraordinary event that happened to my friend AS, who posts his visions here at the blog sometimes. (sw)

AS writes: —During a retreat weekend with Khris Krepcik in Colorado, the group took turns sitting in a maze in the garden of the resort in silent meditation with people in the group doing forty five minute shifts. This went on all day and night.  

The first night under the stars was warm and very beautiful as I sat with good friends who are very dedicated to this journey. A mouse ran under my mat and then over to the next person followed closely by a cat, and then up and under the blanket of another. It was hard not to laugh out loud at their antics. With a smile we settled into our meditation the mind slowing becoming still…

I became aware of my teeth aching and this increased quite quickly to where my all of my front teeth felt as if I had been hit in the mouth.

My gums ached and soon I could taste blood in my mouth… and shortly after a small gush of blood came. Though my body remained motionless I was starting to wonder what I might do if this continued… I heard the words “stone Buddha” I took that to mean I should keep my place in the circle.

I could feel small lumps of what felt like coagulated blood appear between my lips and the gums, and more gushes of blood … sometime had passed by now, and again I was reminded to hold my space and not disturb the group or the energy of the mediation …my mouth was full of blood and I had no choice but to start swallowing the blood.

I don’t know how long this continued but the meditation lasted for 45 minutes in total… with each swallow I began to feel really ill…later a friend reminded me of the quote by Edward Norton’s character in the movie Fight Club, “You can swallow a pint of blood before you get sick”. As I was nearing this obvious conclusion I asked the powers that be what was all this about…

I heard the words “breaking the teeth of the liars”.

When I was relieved from my place in the meditation circle I quickly made my way to a small bridge were I expelled an obscene amount of liquid…from there I went back to my room and washed my mouth out, brushed my teeth and inspected my gums… there was nothing to see not one drop of blood came from my teeth, gums, throat or tongue…   

The next morning I was a little nervous heading back down to my meditation slot in the maze… the hour passed  without incident.

That night when I returned to my room my teeth began to ache intensely and again the blood came, and I felt the same prompting to keep still and I heard the same message about the teeth of liars….Though the blood in my mouth was slightly less in volume than the first night, it continued until the meditation ended and by the time I had returned to my room and washed not a drop was to be seen again. —AS
